Who is NM?

Craig Spence

craig@newsmaker.ca
Craig has been a journalist and communications specialist for 30 years. He is also a published novelist with two books of children's fiction to his credit and three more books of children's and adult literature in manuscript.
His early enthusiasm for writing has been the unifying thread of his career. He graduated from the Langara College Journalism Program in 1981 and worked as a reporter and editor for 15 years. During that period he also developed a Public Relations & Communications business with his wife and partner Diana Durrand. In 1996 he focused full-time on communications, becoming Communications Manager with Langley School District #35, where he is responsible for Internal, External and Crisis Communications.
Craig is President of the Federation of BC Writers. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education. He still loves writing: that is observing, understanding then describing complex information and feelings in clear, concise language.

Diana is a West Coast artist who works in acrylics, watercolours, graphite and liquid plastic. Her art has been exhibited widely. It has been purchased by the Canada Council Art Bank, corporations and for various private collections at home and abroad.
Art critics have called Diana an amiable artist with an infectious wit, who elevates everyday experience and domestic objects to “benignly humorous levels”. Her work has also appeared in magazines, children’s books and in a memorable set of Christmas cards for the Save The Children Fund.
